College Credit MVA

College-level courses in high school help students develop the study habits and academic skills needed for college success. These courses often cover introductory subjects, allowing students to enroll in more advanced coursework earlier in their college careers. Learners completing nine or more hours of college-level coursework earn the Market Value Asset for college credit.

Advanced Placement and Dual Credit

Advanced Placement and Dual Credit coursework are offered as early as freshman year. Advanced Placement is a program of college level courses and exams enabling high school students to earn college credit based on their AP Exam test scores for the college or university they subsequently attend.

Dual Credit is a program of courses that align with and meet the requirements of a course at one of our cooperating colleges/universities. Dual Credit courses are taught by LPS staff who meet the requirements to teach for the college.

Early College Academy

LPS Early College Academy is a part-time program open to juniors or seniors who meet specific qualification standards. Students who pursue this opportunity will attend MCC-Maple Woods for half of their school day. Transportation is provided for students who attend in the afternoon. Students engaged in the Early College Academy are still considered full-time LPS students and are eligible for all Missouri State High School Athletics Association (MSHSAA) athletics and activities. Students enrolled in the program can earn between nine and twelve college credit hours per semester at MCC, paid for by LPS.
