Pathways to Para
This program trains students to have the skills and education needed to take and pass the Missouri paraprofessional assessment and be prepared to service students in the classroom post graduation.
What is the role of a paraprofessional?
- Help students access appropriate academic and social opportunities.
- Assist in the implementation of instructional programs including self-help and behavior.
- Provide necessary sensory interventions under the guidance of the therapist and teachers for the purpose of keeping students calm and ready to learn.
Suggested High School Classes:
- Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior Year - Intro to Child Development
- Senior Year - Educational Internship Program (EIP) or Network53 Internship Program
Post-Secondary:
- Upon graduation, students will have all necessary training and requirements to accept a job as a paraprofessional as early as the summer after graduation (if 18 years or older).
